2020  |  Readwise

Creating a design system and branding for my dream product

I made the full switch to digital reading sometime in 2014. Since then, I’ve been yearning for a way to manage all of my highlighted content. Enter Readwise: an amazing product with the mission to dramatically improve non-fiction reading via software. It integrates with more sources than I can name, and I can manage my highlights and tags from books, tweets, medium articles and so much more.

When I first saw Readwise on Product Hunt, I knew I wanted to get involved. In 2020, we launched a redesign of the app and website. I enjoy reviewing highlights on a daily basis through this product! I read mostly non-fiction on history, management, tech, design/writing craft and memoirs– follow my Readwise broadcast

Web App refresh

Readwise enables customers to import highlights from a number of digital sources- from Medium articles, Kindle and iBooks to several other productivity apps. I worked with the team to develop a robust design system for the web app, providing customers a simple experience to manage highlights including tagging, review frequency, importing, exporting and so much more.

iOS App refresh

One of the main product design challenges to solve for on the iOS app is how to preserve all of the robust highlights management from the web app while maintaining a great user experience.
