Audi Sales Assist experience and UI improvements
Audi Sales Assist is an ipad app intended for use by Audi sales representatives at dealerships. This app can aid conversations about a vehicle model while a dealer is showing a customer a car— either on a test drive or out on the lot. When I joined this project, the app had been actively used for a couple of years and I joined for an experience improvement phase. We interviewed several Audi dealers and prioritized a set of feature improvements. A recap of each feature is shared below.
Search for pre-configured model
Customers often come to an Audi dealership after exploring and configuring an Audi model at home. One of the first experience improvements we tackled in the Sales Assist app was to enable dealers to search for a customer configuration to make the customer experience from digital to retail more seamless. Previously this was not possible.
Quick reference of model accolades
As Audi dealers showed customers features of an Audi model on the lot, they often shared videos or articles to aid the conversation. The ability to quickly navigate to the latest accolades or articles for each model during a sales conversation was a top request from dealers, and this improvement was well-received.
Home screen refresh
Originally, the homescreen of the app was not designed with intention, which resulted in wasted space. As this app was used by dealers during conversations with customers at the dealership, this screen was often visible to customers and due for an improvement. We planned a screen with jump-to content of the features that were accessed most often, as well as a rotating gallery of images paired with facts for visual interest.
Notification of new content
When new content became ready for the Sales Assist app, including model updates, images and accolades, dealers received a notification that new updates are ready to be downloaded. One pain point we discovered is that dealers weren’t aware of the new content and could not incorporate it into their sales conversations. This update aimed to give a scannable and visual overview of the new content available in the app.

We added a range visualizer to give dealers a visual tool to aid in customer conversations on TDI range.
